How did you find out about celebrant ceremonies and what made you decide to have one for your ceremony?

We have been to other weddings with celebrants. We wanted everything in one location and wanted a less traditional ceremony as this was the second time around for us.

How was the overall process of creating your wedding ceremony?

Well organised, well communicated to us and felt like a true 2 way process.  Dave just leads the whole thing and makes it fuss free and simple.

Looking back at the day, how did your ceremony feel?

Just exactly what we wanted – heartfelt and fun with a great story for everyone to understand how we got together. We also loved that everyone was put at ease by Dave’s warm and friendly character.

What ended up being your favourite part of your ceremony and why?

That’s a difficult one because it was all great but I loved the audience participation as that made us all feel involved.  So many times I’ve been in the audience listening and felt quite disjointed from the bride and groom but ours was all inclusive. 

How was the experience of writing and delivering your vows? Did you find it hard? Did you enjoy it? 

Loved it and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was difficult and really made you focus on what it is you love about each other but it’s good to take that time out.

How did your celebrant ceremony tie in with the rest of your wedding day?

It tied in perfectly because it set the tone – love and fun are the two most important elements to life and our ceremony had both just like the whole day.  As Dave was also our MC (which was an absolute must), the day flowed so perfectly and we got continuity.  Dave played a massive part in the success of our day.

How did your ceremony go down with your guests? 

They loved it and adored Dave, it truly could not have gone down any better.

What would you say to couples considering a celebrant ceremony?

It has to be their choice but if you’re unsure, listen to a few to get the feel of how you want your ceremony to be.  Listen to traditional celebrants and then listen to Dave.  We love heartfelt speeches but we also love character and fun and authenticity and you get it all with Dave.

Now that you are wedding planning experts, what advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? 

Weddings are very costly, make a list of things that are vital to you (not anyone else) and stick to those.  Leave things out that are not important (for example invites were less important to us so we made our own electronically) but flowers were super important.  Take time to breathe and look at everyone and talk to everyone.  Walk slowly down the aisle.  Enjoy it because it will be one of the best days of your life.
